This is a super nice truck! I’m pretty sure the insurance company totaled it because spare short beds were pretty hard to find at the time.

Pulling the bed before trimming the side off

I found a bedside and tailgate in color which was awesome! Now to trim the new bedside and get it ready to weld on.

You can NEVER have too many vice grips Ha Ha.

The welding was done here but I needed to clean it all up before paint. The bedside was the correct color but I still wanted to clear coat the whole thing to make it as nice as the rest of the truck. The areas that were welded were mostly hidden. I masked the bedside and painted the welded areas with something really close that I had on hand and then clear coated everything at the same time.

After a little wet sanding and buffing I was really happy with my paint job!
